The Mammography Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Key responsibilities include providing patient education and quality patient care while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operation of the women's health section of radiology.
- Suggest changes in procedures, policies, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate training and development in breast imaging specialties.
- Maintain records for all accreditation processes and inspections.
- Ensure adherence to FDA guidelines for the mammography section.
- Perform daily QA and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Mammography imaging procedures.
- Verify exam orders and provide patient education regarding exams.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient medical history and consent.
- Maintain accurate patient records in EHR.
- Assist with clerical duties, patient transportation, and other modalities as needed.
- Order, stock, and maintain supply inventory.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver's license).
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- AART registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Preferred two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist, CT, or MRI technologist.
- Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
