We are seeking a driven Fund Controller at Manager / Senior Manager level with desire to join a growing Private Equity fund finance function. The position is wide in scope - includes preparing financial statements for assigned portfolio of private equity investment funds, PE financial reporting, treasury & cash management, valuation, performance analysis, helping with investor relations requests, coordinating with taxation team and more. This role is part of an amazing team and the advancement opportunities are plentiful.
Ramp up takes about 1 year, and is achieved through formal trainings, shadowing peers, manager mentorship, starting with easier funds before progressing to more complex structures, and then adding on the treasury and valuation support deliverables + projects once fully ramped up. Broad responsibilities:
- Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for various funds, including profit & loss allocations, vesting and carry calculations.
- Supporting new deal closings and harvest transactions.
- Treasury projects around cash flow management, stock distributions, capital calls, banking activity.
- Valuation support in collaboration with front office Deal Team to prepare quarterly and annual valuations of portfolio companies.
- Performance, waterfall and hurdle analysis, including scenarios for executive presentations.
- Partnering with Investor Relations to prepare materials for fundraising projects.
- Collaboration with internal tax team on implications of complex investment transactions & quarterly tax estimates and annual tax returns for investment partnerships, including tracking and review of K-1 activity & compliance-based partnership agreement analysis.
Qualifications:
- CPA / Masterβs Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of relevant experience. Prior or current public accounting experience (Audit / Assurance, Advisory or Partnership Tax) with alternative investment clients is valued.
- Fund Administration experience on alternative investment products is also very applicable.
- Project management skills, attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential.
- Can do attitude, excellent communication skills with desire to learn!
