Private Client Solicitor - Tax & Trusts (UK)

Forming an integral part of the Private Client team, recognised as one of the leading teams globally, this Associate role will advise a range of UK clients on their succession and tax planning.

Roles and Responsibilities 

\\n\\n

\\n\\t
• Provide practical and commercial legal advice to clients in a clear and succinct manner

\\n\\t

• Manage a substantial and varied workload efficiently and cost-effectively with supervision, appropriate to the level of expertise

\\n\\t

• Draft more complex documents with minimum instruction and supervision, making use of appropriate precedents

\\n\\t

• Apply a commercial approach to research and evaluate relevance and accuracy in delivery of advice

\\n\\t

• Where appropriate, delegate, co-ordinate and supervise the work of more junior members of the team

\\n\\t

• Actively participate in client marketing opportunities such as client seminars, presentations and pitches

\\n\\t

• Identify client opportunities and take appropriate steps to follow through

\\n\\t

• Contribute to group knowledge and know-how initiatives

\\n\\t

• Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory obligations including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations, and Principles.

Person Specification

\\n\\n

\\n\\t
• Be an England and Wales qualified lawyer (or equivalent, such as CILEX) with 2-3 years’ PQE

\\n\\t

• Have an in-depth knowledge of domestic and international succession and tax planning

\\n\\t

• A STEP qualification would be an advantage

\\n\\t

• Demonstrate good judgement and a good legal and commercial understanding of clients’ particular needs

\\n\\t

• Take a ‘hands on’ approach to managing own files and a broad case-load

\\n\\t

• Have a high degree of attention to detail

\\n\\t

• Have strong problem-solving skills

\\n\\t

• Be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks

\\n\\t

• Be a pro-active team player, who is also highly self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative

\\n\\t

• Be able to build rapport with clients and develop an effective working relationship 

\\n
