An opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded national Corporate Defence and Regulatory team within a leading UK law firm. Known for its collaborative culture and strong client relationships, the firm supports organisations across a wide range of sectors in navigating complex regulatory environments, particularly where reputational, financial, and operational risks are at stake.
The team advises on a broad spectrum of corporate defence and regulatory matters, including criminal prosecutions, compliance with health and safety legislation, risk management, and engagement with key regulatory bodies. They are regularly instructed on high-profile, sensitive, and business-critical issues, offering pragmatic, commercially focused advice to clients facing investigations, enforcement action, or crisis situations.
This role offers exposure to a high-quality mix of advisory and contentious work. You will be involved in providing health and safety advice covering compliance, incident response, investigations, and defence of enforcement action and prosecutions. The position also includes regulatory work linked to product safety and liability, such as product recalls, internal investigations, and liaison with enforcement authorities including Trading Standards. In addition, you will advise on food safety and wider regulated-product compliance, as well as contributing to complex corporate defence matters such as corporate manslaughter investigations, inquests, and other regulatory proceedings.
Working as part of a growing national team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across multiple offices to deliver cohesive and strategic advice to clients. The firm prides itself on a joined-up, sector-focused approach, giving lawyers the opportunity to build deep client relationships while working on varied and intellectually engaging matters.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with experience in health and safety law, and ideally some exposure to product safety, product recall, or food safety regulatory work. You will be confident in handling investigations and dealing with regulators, with the ability to advise clients clearly and calmly under pressure. Strong organisational skills, sound case management, and commercial awareness are essential, alongside a commitment to delivering a consistently high standard of client service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer seeking to develop within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.
