I have an interesting opportunity with a well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation across Suffolk and the East of England. With over 200 staff and a growing regional footprint, the firm is looking to appoint a Senior Personal Injury Lawyer to join their highly regarded Injury Services division in Suffolk. The firm is recognised for its excellent claimant offering, strong client care ethos, and ability to combine high-quality work with a genuinely supportive, down-to-earth culture. It’s the kind of environment where senior lawyers can have real impact, enjoy visibility with leadership, and progress at a realistic pace — without navigating layers of unnecessary hierarchy.
We are looking for someone to join at Senior Associate level or equivalent, with genuine scope to progress to Partner for those who want to step into a larger role within the team. The work is broad, complex, and meaningful, with support from a well-structured department.
Why this role stands out
- A strong, established PI client base: The Injury Services department handles a wide range of claimant work, including serious and catastrophic injuries, workplace accidents, road traffic claims, complex liability disputes, and high-value recoveries. You would be stepping into a practice with a long-established stream of instructions — not a “build your own caseload” scenario. There is more than enough work to support a senior hire from day one.
- High-quality, often life-changing work: Expect a broad and engaging caseload that may include serious and catastrophic injury, brain and spinal injuries, complex orthopaedic injuries, workplace accidents and employer liability claims, RTA and public liability matters, litigation involving higher-value, nuanced medical evidence, rehabilitation-focused work supported by external specialists. The team regularly handles significant-value work and is recognised for its depth of expertise and client-focused approach.
- Leadership that genuinely supports senior lawyers: The partners are approachable, commercially sensible, and proactive in developing senior talent. Senior hires receive clear expectations, honest conversations about progression, and support to grow their profile and influence over team development and processes. The pathway to Partner is transparent, achievable, and aligned with the firm’s ongoing investment in its PI offering.
- Meaningful autonomy and voice: This is a team where senior lawyers can shape client relationships, mentor junior colleagues, contribute to business development in a way that feels natural, and have a seat at the table when it comes to departmental direction.
- Balanced working culture: The firm offers hybrid working, genuine flexibility, and a sensible approach to workload management. Senior lawyers often join from large regional or national firms for more ownership of cases, better quality of life, and a culture where people support each other, fostering long-term client relationships instead of transactional volume work. The firm is commercial but never at the expense of wellbeing.
Who this will suit: A senior personal injury lawyer who enjoys managing high-quality work, values autonomy, and wants a firm where progression is realistic and not blocked by layers of hierarchy. Someone who wants to blend meaningful client care with complex, rewarding casework — in a supportive, well-led team. If you’re looking for an opportunity that combines serious PI work, clear progression, and a firm that genuinely values senior expertise, this role offers a compelling platform.
