Few places can offer a lawyer the best of both worlds but in Jersey it really is possible to build an international calibre legal career whilst enjoying a lifestyle that is simply unattainable in London or another major urban centre.
Lawyers in this leading offshore firm are engaged in high-quality and complex cross-border legal work, often in a far more ‘hands-on’ role than might be typical in a larger City type firm. They enjoy a good low-tax earning potential and are encouraged to begin building client contacts from day one, making for excellent career prospects. The working culture is friendly and relaxed but at the same time highly ambitious, with a real focus on developing commercial as well as technical acumen. Whether focusing on corporate, investment funds, capital markets or a broad spread across the practice, the experience you gain here will provide an excellent platform for your longer-term career, whether remaining offshore or returning onshore.

The Channel Islands
For a city-based lawyer who thrives on big-ticket work but craves an escape from the rat race, few places compete with the Channel Islands, home to two of the world’s premier offshore financial centres. Jersey and Guernsey have strong and highly competitive legal sectors, housing teams that number many alumni of the leading London or international outfits amongst their ranks. They do complex blue-chip work, in a nice environment without the trappings of a big law firm culture. Work-life balance tends to be good, leaving plenty of time to enjoy what is an enviable coastal lifestyle and London is only an hour away making it easy to get that city fix when (or if) you need it.
