The Opportunity
My client, a Legal 100 practice, are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join our Regional Dispute Resolution Group, based in their Brighton office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor looking to develop their career within a leading private wealth disputes team, working alongside experienced practitioners on high-quality, complex matters.
About the Role
As an Associate Solicitor, you will handle a varied caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters, including:
- Inheritance Act claims
- Executor and Trustee disputes
- Breach of trust claims
- Challenges to the validity of Wills
- Claims relating to breaches of Executor duties
- Other private wealth and estate-related disputes
You will manage your own matters under supervision, meeting billing and time-recording targets, while also contributing to larger cases and collaborating with colleagues across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters.
- Provide clear, practical, and strategic advice to clients.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and referrers.
- Assist senior team members on complex, high-value disputes.
- Achieve departmental targets for billing, time recording, and fees.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and support the growth of the practice.
About You
- 2–5 years PQE, with experience in dispute resolution, ideally including contentious trusts and probate.
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent drafting skills.
- A client-focused approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and commercially aware.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
