The Opportunity
My client, a Legal 100 practice, are seeking an Associate Solicitor to join our Regional Dispute Resolution Group, based in their Brighton office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated solicitor looking to develop their career within a leading private wealth disputes team, working alongside experienced practitioners on high‐quality, complex matters.
About the Role
As an Associate Solicitor, you will handle a varied caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters, including:
- Inheritance Act claims
- Executor and Trustee disputes
- Breach of trust claims
- Challenges to the validity of Wills
- Claims relating to breaches of Executor duties
- Other private wealth and estate‐related disputes
You will manage your own matters under supervision, meeting billing and time‐recording targets, while also contributing to larger cases and collaborating with colleagues across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of contentious trusts and probate matters.
- Provide clear, practical, and strategic advice to clients.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and referrers.
- Assist senior team members on complex, high‐value disputes.
- Achieve departmental targets for billing, time recording, and fees.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and support the growth of the practice.
About You
- 2–5 years PQE, with experience in dispute resolution, ideally including contentious trusts and probate.
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent drafting skills.
- A client‐focused approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
- Team‐oriented, proactive, and commercially aware.
- Able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
