Offshore moves tend to appeal to lawyers who are looking for something a bit different without taking a step back in their career. This role fits that description perfectly. It is with a fast-growing offshore law firm that can offer exposure to some great work, whilst the small team size means that you will get lots of variety, handling the Guernsey law elements of everything from mainstream commercial litigation and shareholder disputes through insolvency, banking litigation and contentious financial services. If you are tired of the more rigid structure that can exist in larger onshore firms, you should find this quite refreshing.

You will join a growing team that is both highly ambitious but also down to earth and friendly, with everybody pushing in the same direction. The work-life balance is good – they work hard but there is no ‘long-hours’ culture here. Outside of work, Guernsey is great for someone who enjoys a more relaxed pace of life and who fancies living by the coast. It’s a beautiful scenic island, a world apart from London but less than an hour’s flight away.
Requirements
- UK/Commonwealth qualified lawyers with anywhere between two and eight years’ PQE are encouraged to apply (all applicants with suitable skills will be considered).
- Experience in commercial litigation gained with a good commercial law firm. No offshore experience required.
- Note that a City/International firm background, whilst welcome, is not essential. Lawyers from good smaller firms with the requisite experience, are encouraged to apply.
