Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Transactions:
Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including sale deeds, lease agreements, development agreements, and joint venture agreements.
Conduct due diligence to identify and mitigate risks in real estate transactions.
Title Verification & Property Matters:
Analyse and verify title documents to ensure clear and marketable property ownership.
Handle title search reports and coordinate with external counsel for opinions.
Regulatory Compliance:
Advise on compliance with real estate and property-related laws,municipal regulations, stamp duty, and registration requirements.
Ensure adherence to local zoning, environmental, and land-use laws.
Dispute Resolution:
Provide legal support in resolving disputes related to property matters, including litigation and arbitration.
Liaise with external counsel and represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal teams such as finance, operations, and project management to align legal strategies with business goals.
Engage with external consultants, government bodies, and regulators for approvals and clearances.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of legal documents and proceedings.
Prepare legal opinions, reports, and briefs as required.
Qualifications & Experience: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) from a recognized university. Master’s degree or specialisation in real estate law is a plus.
PQE: 2 to 4 years of experience in real estate law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of real estate and property laws
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office.
Compensation: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience.
