• Experience of financial services focussed M&A and strategic transactions involving institutional clients is highly desired
• Client-focussed thinking and commerciality – the ability to offer up solutions rather than merely identify problems
• Self-motivated, flexible and willingness to own and deliver workstreams
• Team dynamic is important in a fast-moving, market-facing transaction – strong communication and technical skills, positivity and proactivity are must-haves
• Ability to collaborate alongside specialists in other practice areas (within the UK and internationally) and to co-ordinate client initiatives and effectively support transaction delivery
• Willingness and enthusiasm to participate in externally-focussed business development activities and to play an important role in helping to build, develop and support key long-term relationships with new and established financial institution clients (both on and off transactions)
