Brooks Ecological, an Origin Enterprises company, is an ecology-led consultancy with a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from large-scale habitat restoration and management schemes to strategic urban extensions and smaller private initiatives. With clients ranging from local authorities, house builders, schools, charities and householders, we offer an exciting variety of projects and the chance to be part of a growing, collaborative team.
We are looking for a number of enthusiastic Seasonal Ecologists, who are keen to gain valuable ecological survey experience and develop their key fieldwork skills. These roles will be on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract from April 2026 and we are interested in hearing from those looking for either Full Time or Part Time hours (minimum 15 hours per week).
Principal responsibilities will include the undertaking of night time bat survey work, including working as part of a team on bat emergence surveys, or as part of a two person unit undertaking bat transects and deploying static monitoring. The opportunity for occasional daytime surveys may also be available.
Successful candidates need to have (or be working towards) a degree in Ecology or related field; or have previous Ecological Surveying experience. All necessary training will be provided in house by Brooks Ecological.
- Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- A full, clean UK driving licence and access to own car (Desirable)
- Willingness to travel to and from site, and our Guiseley office, near Leeds.
- A mobile phone which you would be willing to use to liaise with the office
- Willingness to work outside of normal office hours
