We’re looking for an experienced Paraplanner who will need excellent planning and organisation skills, with the ability to analyse and document client needs clearly in a timely manner to meet agreed service levels to ensure that we are operating a commercial service, plus meeting personal targets.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing and quality check private fact-finds to ensure all aspects of the client financial needs are clearly documented, challenging the advisers where appropriate to enable them to research suitable solutions based on the information provided.
- Complete relevant research, tax calculations, illustrations, utilising research tools to ensure holistic advice is provided to the client.
- Prepare draft suitability reports within an agreed timescale, for final approval by the adviser, using technical knowledge and experience plus compliance approved templates and soft facts including justification for advice.
- Liaise with the Business Quality Unit (BQU) to ensure that the file quality is within required standards and to act as a conduit between the Adviser and BQU to resolve any remedial points identified following a file being checked.
- Set down holistic financial planning advice for each client using the information provided to draft a recommendation report.
- Use own knowledge and expertise to construct a draft advice report where this falls outside of the Origen templated reports/standard paragraphs, preparing a report for sign off by the Origen adviser.
- In sending drafts, the Paraplanner is required to hit and exceed the set target on a monthly basis, individually and to support the wider team goals.
- Obtain illustrations, Key Features Documents, taking responsibility of all application forms and associated documentation to support the recommendations report, ensuring it can be processed.
- Co-ordinate the issue of the final recommendation report and other documentation for client signature if deemed appropriate.
- Produce high quality draft outputs, requiring minimal changes from advisers, attracting positive feedback and excellent grades from the file checking team.
- Update the Paraplanner worklog on an ongoing basis, ensure all record keeping is maintained on XPlan ensuring documents are imported in a timely manner to support the sale.
- Liaise with advisers and other parts of Origen plus third parties for additional information to support the recommendations for the clients, with the ability to challenge/agree requirements to ensure the paraplanning activities are performed in a timely and quality manner.
- Maintain compliant files up to the point of sale.
- Maintain both technical and market knowledge on an ongoing basis to maintain CPD and demonstrate ability to analyse, research and document recommendations across whole of market products.

- Level 4 Diploma qualification
- Previous Paraplanning experience essential, across a wide range of providers.
- Financial Services experience is essential preferably obtained in a life and pensions environment.
- Practical knowledge of financial planning, pensions, investments, wealth management, life assurance, tax matters and corporate financial advice.
- Intermediate on Excel and Word.
