The Role
We are seeking qualified and passionate Associate Play Therapists or Child Therapists to join our team on an associate basis. You will work with children across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire, delivering therapeutic sessions that support their emotional development and wellbeing. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced therapists or those building their private practice to work flexibly while making a meaningful difference in children's lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver therapeutic play therapy or child therapy sessions to individual clients
- Conduct assessments and develop appropriate therapeutic plans
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals as appropriate
- Uphold professional standards and ethical practice at all times
Qualifications
- Qualification in Play Therapy, Child Psychotherapy, or Child Counselling
- Registration with relevant professional body (e.g., PTUK, BAPT, BACP, UKCP, HCPC)
- Experience working therapeutically with children
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Access to own transport for travel across Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire
- Experience with specific therapeutic approaches (e.g., non-directive play therapy, CBT, attachment-based approaches)
- Experience working with specific presentations (e.g., trauma, anxiety, behavioural difficulties)
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
