About Us: Orientation Marketing Limited, part of Orientation Marketing Holdings Limited, is a full-service pharma and life-science marketing agency with offices in the UK and USA. We offer a multi-layered approach to solving our clients’ marketing challenges by focusing on biopharma services, and utilising extensive industry experience coupled with robust implementation of brand strategy, media relations and content marketing delivered through the most effective channels to achieve business goals and objectives.

The agency is operated by veteran senior-level publishing and client-side biopharma industry experts.

The Role: We are looking for an experienced Scientific Writer to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of Communications and Content, this role combines the creative flair of a marketing agency with the technical depth and rigour our specialist sector demands. You will work at the intersection of science and strategy, producing content that genuinely informs and influences senior decision-makers across the pharma supply chain. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape impactful narratives within a vibrant agency environment.

If you have a scientific background, a talent for clear writing, and a desire to make complex subject matter accessible without dumbing it down, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Research, write and edit high-quality technical content including white papers, case studies, thought leadership articles, product copy, and email campaigns.
  • Translate complex scientific and regulatory topics — such as GMP compliance, bioprocessing, aseptic manufacturing, and analytical testing — into compelling, audience-appropriate communications.
  • Collaborate closely with the account leads, PR and marketing teams, and clients to understand strategic objectives and develop content briefs.
  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts (SMEs) and scientific spokespeople to source original insight.
  • Adapt tone, depth and format for different channels: trade press, digital, print, and conference materials.
  • Ensure all content meets accuracy, compliance, and brand standards, with a strong eye for detail.
  • Contribute to pitches and proposals with relevant scientific narrative and strategic framing.

About You:

Essential:

  • A degree in a life science, or chemistry discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2–4 years’ experience in scientific writing, technical communications, biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing writing, or a similar content-focused role.
  • Proven ability to write accurately and engagingly for a professional, senior B2B audience.
  • Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech, or related manufacturing subject matter.
  • Strong research skills and comfort engaging directly with technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a structured, disciplined approach to deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with GMP regulations and regulatory affairs terminology.
  • Experience working within or alongside a marketing or communications agency.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain, including CDMOs, excipient suppliers, process equipment manufacturers and similar.
  • An understanding of SEO principles and digital content strategy.
  • Comfort contributing to creative concepting and campaign ideation.

Who We Work With: CDMOs, CROs and other companies of all sizes within the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturer supply chains in Europe, North America and Asia, including Novartis Contract Manufacturing, Catalent, Adare, SCHOTT Pharma and Aptar.

What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package. Opportunity to work with leading and innovative brands in pharma and healthcare. A collaborative, creative working environment. Opportunities for professional development and career growth. Flexible working options. Company sponsored private healthcare. Subsidised gym membership. Cycle Scheme.
