We are seeking a highly motivated Prescribing Pharmacist to join a fast-growing pharmacy group. This is a unique opportunity to develop a rewarding career within the UK pharmaceutical sector, playing a key role in the supply chain from manufacturer to patient across multiple channels.

Job Overview

The role combines clinical and operational responsibilities, including independent prescribing, final accuracy checking, and supporting the team with order queries and controlled drug management using internal systems. You will use your prescribing qualification for 1–2 hours per day as part of your responsibilities, ensuring safe, effective, and timely delivery of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical screening of prescriptions to ensure safety, appropriateness, and compliance.
  • Carry out final accuracy checks in line with legal and professional requirements.
  • Use your independent prescribing qualification for 1–2 hours daily to support patient care.
  • Manage and resolve order queries and clinical interventions via the internal system.
  • Ensure controlled drug (CD) records are accurately maintained in accordance with legislation.
  • Provide guidance and support to dispensing and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold GPhC and professional standards.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and SOP reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

  • MPharm or equivalent pharmacy degree
  • GPhC-registered pharmacist
  • Proven experience in a community, hospital, or online pharmacy environment

  • Strong clinical judgement and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
