Job Description
This is an exceptional role at an unparalleled organisation, which offers growth, fulfilment and the pleasure of working within a mission focussed culture which is interactive, shaping policy and dedicated to speeding up discovery. The role is newly created with the purpose to drive and coordinate the Institute’s activities and make it more than the sum of it’s parts. Working daily with the Founder/Director, this Chief of Staff will be adept at coordinating the research, communication and fundraising teams; and assisting with press relations and brand development. Alignment with the values of the Institute is essential; this person must be sociable, have a relentless intention to deliver, be curious about others, capable of leadership and be committed to ‘showing up’.  The successful candidate will possibly have experience of working within the political field, amongst journalists or for strategy consultants but overall be intuitive when dealing with leaders of government, business and science. The need to have developed the ability to solve new and unexpected problems in past roles is vital and have a talent for motivating people, coupled with the quality of having emotionally intelligent communication skills, will fit well into the culture. Much stock is put on the skill of clear and concise writing although familiarity with science it not necessary, divergent skills are welcomed. This is a boutique organisation breaking new ground and always striving for new models of discovery. Daily presence in the office is required.
