About the role
The MMU Operator is responsible for driving and operating our Mobile Manufacturing Units (MMUs) on quarries. This role involves providing a quality service of bulk explosive delivery to customers sites in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
Safety is our priority, and we are looking for someone reliable and highly committed to our safety standards.
What you will be doing
As the MMU Operator, you will be responsible for:
• Operating/Driving MMUs and ensuring equipment prestart compliance
• Performing MMU calibration and quality control compliance
• Conducting basic fault finding and repairs
• Handling explosives and assisting Shotfirers with shot preparation
• Measuring holes
• Stemming holes and operating ancillary equipment
• Ensuring safe driving and TMP compliance
• Using, handling, and storing raw materials and dangerous goods according to SDS requirements
• Minimizing environmental damage through waste control
• Reporting all unusual incidents and accidents immediately
• Participating in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
• Maintaining personal training against the Orica training matrix for your role
• Performing other ancillary duties, including relief at other locations, as instructed by the supervisor
• Assisting clients in achieving targets and maintaining production
• Notifying Orica site management of any variations in product specification, appearance, or performance
What you will bring
• Valid ADR card (preferable, but not mandatory)
• Physically fit due to the nature of the role
• Availability to start early, usually around 4am
• Willingness to spend occasional nights away to cover leaves at other sites
• Unquestionable reputation for integrity
