An opportunity to make meaningful impact exists at our Kooragang Island site! Join us as Operations Support Engineer and help drive operational excellence across our manufacturing operations.
As an Operations Support Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of operational excellence, supporting key initiatives that drive safety, efficiency, and innovation across the site. This is your chance to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to major projects and turnarounds, and help shape the future of our operations.
As part of a dynamic, cross-functional team, you’ll lead continuous improvement efforts, optimize systems and processes, manage inventory, and provide hands-on support during peak operational periods. You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with other business units, gaining exposure to broader strategic initiatives and expanding your impact across the organization.
What you will be doing
- Participate in the Permit to Work (PTW) Working Group and support system improvement rollouts;
- Assist with monthly stocktakes of raw materials and products, including corrective actions;
- Support site-wide project implementation, including scope development and capital expenditure processes;
- Represent Operations in project design and execution alongside the PMO team;
- Contribute to planning and execution during Major Projects and Turnarounds (e.g., procedures, isolation plans, inventory);
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, hygiene, OEE, cost, and effluent management.
What you will bring
- Engineering degree — Chemical Engineering preferred, though other disciplines will be considered;
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset;
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders;
- Flexibility to backfill production superintendent roles when needed.
