Position Summary

The Material Planner will play a vital role in supporting the planning and coordination of materials required for medical device production, research & development and servicing. This entry-level position is designed for recent graduates with industrial experience, seeking to develop their career in planning and materials management within a regulated medical technology environment. This role would also suit an individual with practical experience in a similar role gained via vocational training or apprenticeship. This is an on-site role in Oxford to allow for collaboration with key stakeholders across the business.

Major Responsibilities

  • With guidance and support from the Planning Manager, the Material Planner will be responsible for forecasting the supply and demand for components and spare parts using historical data and input from Engineering, Servicing and other internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the efficient flow of materials from suppliers to production, engineering and other internal requirements.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating replenishment for engineering projects and service plans.
  • Liaising with production teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and materials are available as needed.
  • Tracking and expediting material movements to avoid bottlenecks and delays.
  • Creating, monitoring and managing production orders in the ERP system.
  • Communicating material requirements, delivery schedules and resolving supply issues in collaboration with procurement.
  • Participating in cross-functional projects to improve material planning processes and operational efficiency.
  • Supporting initiatives to enhance delivery performance and cost optimisation.
  • Ensuring all material planning activities comply with relevant standards (ISO 13485, FDA, BSI).
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting audit readiness.
  • Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx's Code of Conduct and all other company policies.

Requirements Skills & Experience

  • Recent graduate in a manufacturing, supply chain, engineering or a related discipline, preferably with a year in industry; OR an individual with practical experience in a similar role gained via vocational training or apprenticeship.
  • Very strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with an ERP system would be an advantage.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Interest in working within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
