Position Summary: The Digital Architect is responsible for providing expertise in the strategy, design, and governance of digital projects, with a focus on scalable and secure solutions. This role supports the ongoing evolution of OrganOx's digital products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. This role requires a combination of strategic and hands-on skills, coupled with technical expertise across the full technology stack (IoT, Cloud, Applications and Data Science). It is an excellent opportunity to transform the transplant landscape, as well as have a positive impact on patients' lives. This is an on-site position in Oxford with flexibility.
Major Responsibilities:
- Architect scalable, reliable, and secure end-to-end digital solutions that work effortlessly with our perfusion devices, covering both front-end and back-end components.
- Create an end-to-end lifecycle strategy and evolve alongside changes in the business strategy.
- Lead the development of solutions (mobile, web portals), ensuring seamless integration with cloud and data services.
- Collaborate with and provide technical guidance to UI/UX designers and software developers to create cohesive and intuitive user experiences.
- Line management of a team of internal development resources, working in alignment with an external development team.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams and work alongside external partners to translate requirements, enhance capabilities and achieve project objectives.
- Monitor and optimise the performance of services, guaranteeing optimal user experiences for our users.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of issues that may arise.
- Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, resilience, and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, IEC).
- Maintain documentation and support the implementation of frameworks that enable efficient development and ongoing support.
- Adhere to the letter and spirit of OrganOx's Code of Conduct and all other company policies.
Requirements:
Skills & Experience:- Proven experience as an architect, preferably within a regulated healthcare/life science environment and with enterprise solutions.
- Hands-on expertise in full stack development technologies (IoT, cloud (Azure), mobile, web, APIs, microservices), including front-end and back-end components.
- Familiarity across a variety of relevant development languages/frameworks (.NET, C#, React, etc.).
- Expertise in contemporary development methodologies in a regulated industry, such as Agile, and experience implementing such practices within small development teams consisting of internal and external partners.
- Experience in providing technical leadership to team members and engaging directly with customers if necessary.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of medical device data security and compliance requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, IEC 62304, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
