As a member of the Supply Chain Operations organization, the Demand Fulfillment Planner (DFP) plays a critical role in ensuring reliable product supply to markets and B2B customers by translating demand signals into executable supply and fulfillment plans. Acting as the key link between Commercial, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, the DFP ensures that the right products are delivered at the right time while balancing service, inventory, and cost. The DFP operates at the center of the supply chain, combining demand planning, supply coordination, stakeholder alignment and supports the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.

Responsibilities

  • Demand & Forecast Management
    • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts (0–36 months) based on market trends, market/business intelligence, historical sales data, and statistical models.
    • Drive the monthly demand review meetings with the different Commercial stakeholders to align on the consensus demand forecast plans.
    • Identify and close gaps between financial plans and demand plans.
    • Support product lifecycle activities (launches, phase-in/out, portfolio changes).
    • Monitor and improve forecast accuracy KPIs and continuously improve forecast performance.
  • Supply & Fulfillment Management
    • Translate demand plans into feasible supply and fulfillment plans.
    • Monitor supply performance and manage exceptions (shortages, delays, excess).
    • Proactively identify and resolve supply risks and disruptions.
    • Coordinate allocation, prioritization, and escalation of supply issues.
    • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery to meet customer expectations.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage inventory levels and optimize stock availability across the network.
    • Ensure compliance with safety stock policies and planning parameters.
    • Minimize Inventory of Questionable Value (IQV), expiry risks, and discards.
    • Collaborate with supply sites and production planning to align inventory and supply.
    • Balance service, cost, and inventory efficiency.
  • IBP / S&OP & Governance
    • Prepare and lead Demand Review / Market Review meetings.
    • Present key topics: demand changes, risks, financial gaps, inventory health, and lifecycle events.
    • Ensure alignment across Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Quality.
    • Drive data-driven decision-making and structured governance.
    • Actively support and contribute to Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and S&OP processes.
  • Stakeholder & Customer Management
    • Serve as the primary planning contact and customer advocate.
    • Build strong relationships across Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing, and Logistics.
    • Ensure clear, proactive communication of supply risks and opportunities.
    • Represent customer and patient needs in planning decisions.
    • Support cross-functional collaboration and team effectiveness.
  • Performance Management & Reporting
    • Own and track planning KPIs such as Forecast accuracy, Service level and Inventory health.
    • Generate insights through reports, dashboards, and analytics.
    • Perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
    • Support business reviews with clear, data-driven insights.
  • Systems, Data & Process Excellence
    • Maintain high-quality planning master data and system integrity.
    • Manage planning parameters (e.g. lead times, safety stock).
    • Execute planning activities in line with planning calendar and governance cycles.
    • Utilize planning tools (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, IBP, APO) effectively.
    • Drive continuous improvement and process standardization.
  • Risk, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
    • Identify and proactively manage demand, supply, and inventory risks.
    • Develop mitigation scenarios with stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and GxP requirements.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
  • Way of Working
    • Operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring strong analytical and decision making skills.
    • Combines strategic planning with operational execution.
    • Works across monthly (IBP), weekly, and daily planning cycles.
    • Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in assigned planning areas.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or proven equivalent work experience in a related business concentration.
  • 2 years of experience in a Supply Chain Management environment.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently.
  • Team player and collaborative focus.
  • Problem solving mindset.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to details and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of and experience with MRP systems and Microsoft office.

Additional Skills

  • Basic understanding of working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and/or Good Distribution Practice (GDP) environment.
  • Broad understanding and knowledge of business processes.
  • Prioritizing tasks and maintaining a structured way of working.
  • Maintaining performance during high-volume periods.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean 6 sigma.
  • Strong social and interpersonal skills.
