About The Role
Valoris Group are currently looking for an experienced Subcontract Solar PV Electrician to support ongoing domestic and commercial solar PV projects across Reading and the surrounding areas. This role would suit a reliable, qualified electrician with strong solar PV installation experience who is confident working independently or as part of a wider installation team. You will be responsible for completing high-quality electrical works on solar PV and battery storage projects, ensuring all installations are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out AC electrical works on solar PV installations
- Installing and connecting inverters, battery storage systems and associated equipment
- Completing containment, cabling, isolators and consumer unit works where required
- Working alongside roofers and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery
- Fault finding, testing and commissioning solar PV systems
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with BS 7671 and current regulations
- Completing relevant paperwork, test sheets and installation documentation
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety on site
- Representing the client professionally while working in domestic and commercial environments
Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician
- Solar PV installation experience essential
- 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
- ECS / JIB Gold Card preferred
- Testing and Inspection desirable
- Battery storage experience desirable
- Own tools and transport
- Strong understanding of domestic and commercial electrical installations
- Reliable, professional and able to work to deadlines
