About the Role

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Procurement Officer to lead and strengthen our procurement function, supporting the continued growth and commercial success of our UK business.

Operating across luxury retail, e-commerce, corporate gifting, and premium hospitality environments, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering beautifully curated products and maintaining the highest standards of service and operational excellence.

As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the supply chain supports the organisation's ambitious growth plans.

You will develop strategic sourcing initiatives, build strong supplier partnerships, negotiate commercial agreements, and oversee the procurement of premium products, packaging, and services that align with the company's exacting quality standards.

Working closely with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, you will help deliver an efficient, resilient, and commercially focused procurement function that drives operational excellence and long‑term value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the highest quality products and services at competitive commercial terms.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including supplier selection, purchase orders, contract negotiations, and delivery coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements, quality standards, and service expectations.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, innovative products, and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant UK legislation.
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Monitor inventory requirements and collaborate with internal teams to maintain optimum stock levels.
  • Resolve supplier issues relating to quality, delivery, pricing, and performance.
  • Prepare procurement reports, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses for senior management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, efficiencies, and commercial performance.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities relating to purchasing.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement team members where required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the food, retail, FMCG, luxury goods, or distribution sectors.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement principles and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • CIPS Level 4 or above (or working towards Chartered MCIPS).
  • Experience within the premium food, luxury retail, import, wholesale, or speciality food sectors.
  • Knowledge of UK procurement regulations and supplier compliance requirements.
