General Manager | Premium City Pub
London | £50,000 to £55,000 + bonus
We are recruiting a General Manager for a well-established city pub in Westminster, offering a rare opportunity for a commercially driven operator to take ownership of a sizeable venue and drive its next stage of growth.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a proven track record of running successful pubs, increasing revenue and building profitable businesses through strong operations, excellent team leadership and a proactive approach to sales.
A key part of the role will be maximising the venue's private hire potential, developing corporate relationships and using the space to generate additional revenue through events and functions.
The role
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the venue.
- Drive sales growth, with a clear focus on increasing weekly revenue and profitability.
- Maximise private hire and venue hire opportunities, working closely with the sales team to develop new business.
- Build relationships with local businesses and corporate clients to increase repeat bookings and after-work trade.
- Lead, develop and motivate the team, creating clear standards and accountability across the operation.
- Manage labour costs, rotas, stock and margins to improve overall financial performance.
- Deliver consistently high standards across food, drink, service and guest experience.
- Identify opportunities to grow trade, improve the offer and strengthen the venue's position in the local market.
What we are looking for
- A proven track record as a General Manager running a successful pub or comparable hospitality venue.
- Clear examples of increasing revenue, improving profitability and growing sales.
- Experience generating business through private hire, corporate events and functions.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities and turn them into results.
- A hands-on leader who can take ownership, develop a team and drive standards.
- A confident operator who understands the balance between great hospitality and strong financial performance.
The package
- Salary of £50,000 to £55,000, depending on experience.
- Profit-based bonus linked to business performance.
- Predominantly Monday to Friday working pattern.
- Sundays almost always off, with occasional Saturdays off.
- The opportunity to lead a sizeable central London venue with significant potential to grow its sales and events business.
