We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Restaurant & Events Manager to lead the day to day operation of a destination restaurant and private events business within a high quality boutique hotel environment in the City of London. This role is central to the success of the food and beverage offering, combining strong floor presence, commercial awareness and people leadership. Working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager, Operations team and senior hotel leadership, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving performance across both restaurant and events operations. This is a hands on management position suited to someone who leads from the front and thrives in a fast paced, premium hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Service Excellence
- Oversee all restaurant and events operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and consistency.
- Remain highly visible on the floor during service, leading by example and supporting the team.
- Deliver warm, professional guest engagement, creating strong first and last impressions.
- Proactively manage guest feedback and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to personalise experiences and exceed guest expectations.
- Events Management
- Oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of private and corporate events.
- Ensure smooth communication between operations, kitchen, reservations and events teams.
- Support revenue growth through effective event execution and upselling opportunities.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, develop and retain a high performing front of house team.
- Create a positive, motivated culture that encourages ownership and accountability.
- Set clear objectives, KPIs, schedules and operational standards.
- Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager on SOPs, training programmes and service initiatives.
- Ensure all compliance, health and safety and mandatory training is completed and recorded.
- Financial & Commercial Performance
- Support budget management, payroll control and cost efficiency across restaurant and events.
- Drive performance against revenue and profitability targets.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team on menu development and ongoing product improvement.
- Report on sales performance, productivity and results to senior management.
- Collaboration & Systems
- Work closely with all hotel departments to ensure seamless guest journeys.
- Support rota planning, holiday management and team administration.
- Ensure maintenance issues are identified and escalated promptly.
- Use hotel systems to support operational efficiency and guest experience.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all legal, health, safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
- Promote a safe and professional working environment across the department.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance reporting.
About You
- Proven experience in a similar Restaurant Manager or Events Manager role within a quality led hotel or restaurant.
- Strong background in premium or luxury hospitality environments.
- Confident, hands on leader with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Commercially minded with a strong focus on revenue, standards and guest satisfaction.
- Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Professional, personable and passionate about hospitality.
Package & Benefits
- Salary up to £40,000 per annum.
- Variable TRONC service charge, averaging circa £500 per month with upside linked to events performance.
