An exciting opportunity for a grower to lead a new field-scale growing operation and develop a great business within the organic growing community in Cornwall. Tresemple is a mixed organic farm, with 20 acres of organic vegetables on a rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Managing wholesale and local sales of crops, communicating with customers
- Directing harvest teams and harvesting
- Managing the pack shed and packing
- Admin and invoicing
- Timetabling the seasonal harvest workforce
- Working closely with the farm manager to manage the growth and sale of the vegetables
Essential Skills:
- Minimum 1 year commercial horticultural experience
- Experience working outdoors in all weather, good dexterity and speed
- Highly organised, good record keeping
- Comfortable with supervising and managing work teams
- Resilient, hardy and a team player
Desirable Skills:
- Field scale organic veg experience, managing tractors, planters and weeders
- Crop planning experience
Permanent Role Details:
- Permanent role, flexible hours ~ 25 a week, over 4 days, with more work available at peak harvesting times
- £12.21-£16.00 per hour depending on experience
- No accommodation included
- Own transport necessary
