An exciting opportunity for a grower to lead a new field-scale growing operation and develop a great business within the organic growing community in Cornwall. Tresemple is a mixed organic farm, with 20 acres of organic vegetables on a rotation.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing wholesale and local sales of crops, communicating with customers
  • Directing harvest teams and harvesting
  • Managing the pack shed and packing
  • Admin and invoicing
  • Timetabling the seasonal harvest workforce
  • Working closely with the farm manager to manage the growth and sale of the vegetables

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year commercial horticultural experience
  • Experience working outdoors in all weather, good dexterity and speed
  • Highly organised, good record keeping
  • Comfortable with supervising and managing work teams
  • Resilient, hardy and a team player

Desirable Skills:

  • Field scale organic veg experience, managing tractors, planters and weeders
  • Crop planning experience

Permanent Role Details:

  • Permanent role, flexible hours ~ 25 a week, over 4 days, with more work available at peak harvesting times
  • Β£12.21-Β£16.00 per hour depending on experience
  • No accommodation included
  • Own transport necessary
