Flint Owl Farm is seeking an experienced full-time head grower to help develop our new market garden and manage productivity of our 4 acre no dig, no pesticide site.
Set in East Sussex, the farm is a new project set up by Flint Owl Bakery in Lewes to provide organic, no dig vegetables, herbs, fruits and flowers to supply our production kitchen and shops/cafes. We can also supply customers through our current home deliveries alongside our organic breads.
The market garden is in its infancy and we are looking for someone to help plan and further develop the site. There is still work to be done on the building of tunnels, packing stations, fencing, and more no dig beds. An all-round practical skillset will be important.
We are looking to recruit a humble, hard-working and highly experienced commercial grower who can practically manage all the crop planning and vegetable production for the year. You will bring your experience of no pesticide commercial market gardening, ideally no dig, with production ideas to drive this exciting business forward.
You will have extensive organic horticultural growing and market garden crop planning experience, with an ability to inspire, train and manage current & future team members while engaging positively with the general public.
Full-time position: Around 25k + p/a depending on experience + 28 days paid holiday & pension scheme.
