We are seeking an experienced Associate Security Analyst to join our dynamic team and play a key role in the growth and maturation of our technology department. As an Associate Security Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing detailed security plans and processes across the company, collaborating with teams and offices worldwide. Working with both cloud and physical infrastructure, you will be at the heart of projects and initiatives across all departments.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from systems including firewalls, antivirus, SIEM tools, log audit tools, and intrusion detection systems under the guidance of senior staff.
- Assist in the management and updating of antivirus software and other endpoint security tools.
- Help with the initial triage of security incidents, gathering information and escalating to senior staff as appropriate.
- Support internal staff on security queries.
- Contribute to security awareness initiatives by assisting with the preparation of materials and communications, and delivering training sessions.
- Perform routine security checks and audits of user access permissions.
- Maintain project ticketing and internal communications.
- Work with other team members to help develop our security policies and architectures.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a security-related role, either in security or an IT support position.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
- A strong interest in technology and cybersecurity and a willingness to learn.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addresses, ports).
- IT service experience.
- A degree in a relevant field like Information Technology, or Cybersecurity is a plus.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or similar.
- Cloud-specific security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty).
