Join our dynamic Consultancy team

The Consultancy team at Ordnance Survey plays a pivotal role in helping organisations unlock the full potential of geospatial data. As part of OS's broader transformation, our consultancy services are designed to guide clients through a rapidly evolving location data landscape – from traditional GIS to integrated spatial intelligence.

We work at the intersection of innovation and insight, helping clients navigate emerging technologies such as AI, digital twins, smart mobility, spatial finance, climate resilience, and immersive geospatial experiences. Our mission is to ensure that organisations not only keep pace with change but lead it – using location data to drive smarter decisions and better outcomes.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a strategic, people-focused leader to take the helm of the OS Consultancy team.

As Consultancy Lead, you'll play a central role in shaping and delivering OS's consultancy offering. You'll lead a talented team of consultants and work closely with senior stakeholders across OS, to help clients solve complex challenges using geospatial insight.

We're looking for someone who combines commercial acumen with a deep understanding of geospatial data and its applications. You'll need to be a confident communicator, a strategic thinker, and a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-evolving environment and is able to represent OS externally, building trusted relationships with clients and partners.

About the role

  • Champions the consultancy workforce and skills/talent development plan over multiple time horizons and with wider OS talent requirements in mind

  • Identifies and delivers the technical, process and governance requirements required to support the consultancy service offer

  • Ensures Consultancy Service readiness; regularly reviews team capacity vs demand and workload to ensure contractual commitments (such as the PSGA) are met whilst supporting the drive for more destinations

  • Cultivates and drives a culture of support, growth, commerciality, flexibility and customer focus

  • Supports sales, strategic bid activity, pre-sales work as required

  • Undertakes strategic client engagement to drive market recognition of how OS consultancy can drive value

  • Ensures market insight and feedback from the Consultancy team (such as data quality and new data asks) is fed into key stakeholders across the business
