About the role: The Deputy Payroll Manager is responsible for the management of the Payroll Specialists and will provide processing support where required to ensure deadlines are met. The role is required to support and develop the Payroll Specialists and also provides a quality and compliance rigor to payroll system upgrades and enhancements. This role is integral to our Transactional Finance team within the Trust, so we are looking for an experienced payroll leader to support the team! The team has significant contact with our colleagues in the wider Finance team, homes and services. The post holder will be expected to build & maintain exceptional working relationships with them to deliver a service that is right first time.
About you: Ability to Deputise for the Payroll Manager in their absence. It is desirable to have CIPP Diploma in Payroll & essential to have at least a recognised diploma in payroll. You need to have extensive experience working as a payroll professional within a busy and effective payroll / finance / HR department. Working knowledge of RTI and Auto Enrolment, previous experience of computerised payroll processing, payroll laws and regulations. You will possess a basic knowledge of Benefit structure and taxation implications (pension, PMI, childcare vouchers, salary sacrifice and GAYE). In addition, have excellent systems experience including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level such as pivot tables and v look ups), Word, and PowerPoint. You'll also have extensive experience with the operation and calculation of SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP, CSA and Court Orders.
