We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join Orderly on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on delivery role in a growing SaaS business where project management isn’t just about reporting progress - it’s about driving real outcomes, removing blockers, managing risk early, and helping teams deliver high-quality work at pace. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys working with technical teams, and can balance structure with adaptability, this could be a great fit.
About Orderly: Orderly is a growing SaaS business helping organisations manage complex operational and compliance challenges through technology. We’re serious about sustainability and the value supply chain technology can deliver to the economy, people, and the environment. Our platform helps food businesses reduce waste and operate more efficiently at scale. We’re a certified B-Corp, fully remote, and work with major brands across hospitality and retail.
Why this role is different: At Orderly, Technical Project Managers play a central role in delivery. You’ll be working across teams to ensure projects are planned properly, resourced realistically, and delivered to a high standard. This role sits at the intersection of customer needs, technical execution, and commercial outcomes. You’ll need to be comfortable making trade-offs, challenging assumptions, and keeping delivery focused on what matters most.
What you’ll be doing: As a Technical Project Manager, you’ll take end-to-end responsibility for project delivery, including:
- Developing and maintaining clear project plans, schedules, and delivery milestones
- Working with the team to ensure projects are planned and resourced appropriately
- Facilitating strong communication across teams, stakeholders, and sponsors, ensuring decisions are shared at the right time and in the right format
- Proactively identifying risks and issues early, removing blockers, and escalating when needed
- Driving delivery in line with team revenue targets and monthly delivery goals
- Leading resource allocation, scheduling, and tracking, taking ownership without needing heavy oversight
- Ensuring deliverables meet high-quality standards, aligning outcomes to success metrics
- Taking responsibility for increasingly complex projects, understanding the broader organisational context
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships across functions
- Supporting team collaboration and mentoring others by sharing learnings and best practices
- Staying up to date with project management methodologies and industry trends
- Creating a positive, high-performing delivery culture where issues are raised early and solved quickly
A typical week might include:
- Running planning sessions to ensure upcoming work is clearly scoped and deliverable
- Managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and aligning them around clear decisions
- Tracking progress against delivery goals and surfacing risks before they become problems
- Coordinating Engineering, Product and Customer teams to unblock delivery
- Managing changes in scope and ensuring the right trade-offs are made
- Keeping delivery focused on outcomes, not activity
Essential requirements:
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager in a tech environment
- Strong understanding of project management tools and delivery methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage delivery against commercial targets and monthly delivery goals
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate clearly across teams
- A track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope
- Confidence working across different methodologies and adapting to the needs of the work
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced scale-up environment
This role isn’t for you if:
- You prefer projects with fixed scope, predictable timelines, and minimal ambiguity
- You avoid difficult conversations or struggle to challenge stakeholders when needed
- You need detailed direction before taking action
- You prefer working within one team rather than coordinating across multiple functions
- You are uncomfortable balancing delivery pressure with quality expectations
- You see project management as reporting status rather than driving outcomes
Inclusivity statement: At Orderly, we value diversity, creativity, and continuous learning. We encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply, even if they don’t meet every listed requirement. We believe in the potential for unique perspectives to drive innovation and success. If you are passionate, have a commitment to growth, and a willingness to learn, we invite you to apply. We are excited to welcome individuals who bring fresh ideas and diverse experiences to contribute to our dynamic team and help us achieve our collective goals.
