The Role: We are seeking a skilled Costs Drafter to join our team. This role will involve supporting our Head of Costs drafting Bills and statements of costs etc. We are presently a very friendly 14 fee-earner team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing N260 statements of costs.
- Drafting bills of costs in both 3 column and precedent S format as required for submission to opposing paying party and the Court.
- Experience with phase, task and activity time recording and drafting.
- Negotiating costs if necessary, and requesting Provisional/Detailed Assessment where required.
- Preparation of Part 8 “Costs Only” proceedings where necessary.
- Working to WIP targets, adhering to deadlines, and undertaking duties as reasonably required by the Head of Costs and Managing Director.
Person Specification:
- Legal qualification desirable.
- Extensive, demonstrable experience in costs drafting within claimant personal injury sector.
- Proficient in drafting Bills of Costs, including finalising bills in Multi Track and budgeted Clinical Negligence cases.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Civil Procedures Rules and Detailed Assessment process.
- Experience with Proclaim Case Management System and Costs Master an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic team environment.
Salary, Hours & Benefits:
