Role Overview: A permanent Deputy Manager post has become available in a reputable nursing home in Bedford that specialises in elderly care, nursing, dementia, residential and respite care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Manager in planning and implementing the highest quality nursing care for frail elderly residents, including those with dementia.
  • Manage and motivate a team of nurses and carers, ensuring smooth operation of the nursing home.
  • Work autonomously, building strong relationships with management and care staff.
  • Maintain and assess the home’s high quality care standards.
  • Organise and motivate the nursing team to deliver excellent care standards.
  • Assist with inductions and orientations of new care staff.
  • Uphold the home’s reputation as a recognised centre of excellence.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Perform administrative duties.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Qualified nurse – RGN or RMN – registered with the NMC.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Previous experience leading a team of nurses (minimum 5 years hands-on nursing experience).
  • Passion for elderly / dementia care.
  • Certifiable with NMC PIN.
