Overview
As AML Compliance Officer, you support the Group Risk and Compliance function by monitoring and strengthening AML controls across the Group and its subsidiaries. You will help sustain a strong compliance culture, manage regulatory submissions, and assist in training, investigations, and remediation. You’ll work closely with the MLRO and DMLRO to ensure a fit-for-purpose framework and respond to regulatory inspections. This role offers impact through safeguarding the organisation and driving ongoing compliance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform AML compliance monitoring under the Group Compliance Assurance Monitoring Framework
- Analyze monitoring results and recommend procedural changes
- Assist with AML training and sanctions checks; support AML breach investigations
- Provide administrative support (Group Registers) and guidance to staff
- Support the MLRO in regulatory inspections and remediation
- Maintain AML framework to guide business decisions and actions
- Support Life Companies and service providers to stay compliant with regulatory obligations
- Promote compliance culture and deliver compliance training across the Group
- Handle ad hoc project work as directed by the Group MLRO
- Collaborate with senior management to ensure effective governance and reporting
Key requirements
- ICA qualification to Certificate level or currently studying towards ICA
- 2+ years' experience in a financial services compliance role
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks in insurance/financial services across jurisdictions
- Understanding of risk management, internal controls and governance
- Regulatory risk awareness and capability to detect, investigate and prevent issues
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience interacting with senior management and handling compliance matters
- Ability to manage workload in a busy environment
