We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Site Engineer to support delivery of highways, utilities and water projects across the North East, predominantly under the Northumbrian Water framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform site engineering tasks including setting out works, establishing and maintaining survey control, and carrying out checks to ensure construction accuracy.
- Interpret, review and work from technical drawings and CAD outputs to support delivery of civil and water infrastructure works.
- Prepare, update and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, method statements, risk assessments and other site documentation in line with project requirements.
- Undertake surveys and setting-out using traditional and digital equipment (GPS, Total Station etc.) to support accurate construction and record as-built conditions.
- Support the site management team in maintaining quality, safety and compliance with design specifications and contractual requirements.
- Produce and maintain accurate site diaries, progress reports, and technical records to support delivery and commercial teams.
- Liaise with subcontractors, plant operators and internal stakeholders to coordinate works and maintain programme progress.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer in civil engineering or utilities projects, ideally including the water industry and framework delivery.
- Competent in CAD (e.g., AutoCAD) and confident interpreting design drawings and engineering documentation.
- Strong experience in surveying, setting-out and checking works (including use of survey equipment).
- Experience preparing and managing ITPs, checklists and quality documentation.
- Excellent organisational skills, with attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to work regionally (including stays away from home when required).
