We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join a UK-based construction and built-environment organisation. This is a key office-based role, ideal for a proactive professional who is passionate about improving safety standards, influencing culture, and driving continuous improvement across construction activities and supply chains. You will play a central role in shaping and embedding a positive health & safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting senior stakeholders with expert advice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve the organisation's health, safety and wellbeing strategy.
- Develop, review and implement H&S policies, procedures and management systems.
- Provide professional H&S advice to senior leadership, internal teams and construction partners.
- Ensure full compliance with UK health & safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
- Carry out audits, inspections and performance monitoring across office and construction environments.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective actions.
- Promote best practice and a proactive safety culture throughout the business and supply chain.
- Deliver training, briefings and safety communications as required.
About You
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety management role within construction or the built environment.
- CMIOSH or IOSH-qualified (chartered status essential).
- Strong working knowledge of UK construction H&S legislation and best practice.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leaders and external partners.
- Highly organised, detail-focused and driven by a genuine passion for improving safety performance.
- Comfortable working in an office-based Nottingham role, with occasional site engagement.
