About the Role
Orchard Professional Solutions are currently recruiting for a Quality Control (QC) Inspector to join a leading manufacturer based in Ottringham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to play a key role in ensuring products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and company quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out incoming, in-process, and final inspections in line with inspection plans and procedures
- Inspect products using visual, dimensional, and functional inspection methods
- Verify compliance against engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and work instructions
- Record inspection results accurately and maintain quality documentation
- Identify, label, and segregate non-conforming products and materials
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support root cause investigations
- Monitor quality throughout the production process and prevent quality escapes
- Use measuring equipment including gauges, calipers, tapes, and templates
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product quality
- Assist with internal audits and quality compliance activities
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve standards
Requirements
- Previous experience within a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role
- Experience within manufacturing, modular construction, or caravan manufacturing environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of quality inspection techniques and quality standards
- Experience using measuring equipment and inspection tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Basic IT skills for quality reporting and record keeping
Desirable
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards
- Internal auditing experience or quality training
- Knowledge of environmental and safety management systems
