We are looking for a Senior Teaching Aide (STA) to join our busy team, supporting the Lecturer in planning lessons and delivering teaching and learning activities for individuals and groups.
Responsibilities- Support the Lecturer to plan lessons and deliver excellent support for teaching and learning activities for individuals and groups.
- Deputise for the Lecturer, planning and delivering learning activities in their absence.
- Prepare and deliver up to 350 hours per year of acting to cover lecturers' non-contact and/or running of programmes, ensuring high quality provision.
- Record, assess, and report on development, progress and attainment linked to individual EHCPs.
- Collaboratively manage Learning Support Assistants in the absence of the Lecturer or when running a session.
- Take responsibility for individual and small groups of students with a range of needs, including behaviours of concern, in different settings.
- Hold level 2 Maths and English qualifications or be willing to enrol on the internal functional skills course within the first year and complete within two years.
- Experience of working with or caring for children or adults who have barriers to learning and/or special educational needs.
- Proficient use of ICT such as some Microsoft Office Packages and basic understanding of tablet use (iPads).
- Able to communicate (receive and transmit) with students and staff using a variety of media, spoken, sign, written, gestural and intuitive.
36 hours per week, term time only (36 working weeks). 8:45 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45 am – 4:15 pm Friday.
