Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented clerk who is seeking the flexibility of part-time working to support the Local Governing Body in various schools across our Trust. Local Governing Body meetings are held at each school three times a year, with an additional pay committee meeting held once per school per year. We have a range of opportunities on offer in locations including Slough, Hillingdon and Surrey and the possibility of others within Southwest London and Kingston. Please note that some meetings are held in the evening.

Orchard Hill College and Academy Trust (OHCAT) is a family of specialist education providers for over 1500 pupils and students from nursery to further education across 14 academies and 9 college centres in London, Surrey, Sussex, and Berkshire. Supporting our academies and college, OHCAT also operate learning support, such as nursing and therapy, and business support services. Pupils and students within the OHCAT family have a wide range of learning abilities and additional needs including autistic spectrum disorder; speech, language and communication difficulties; social, emotional and mental health; profound and multiple disabilities; and physical disabilities including multi-sensory impairment and complex health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate support to Local Governing Body Chairs by managing paperwork for meetings, providing draft agendas and producing accurate and concise minutes of meetings whilst maintaining up to date information on membership.
  • Advise the Local Governing Body on procedural matters where appropriate and may also be asked to support ad-hoc panel meetings.
  • Ensure proceedings are conducted in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and established guidance.
  • Promote the effective governance of the Trust.

Working pattern and locations

  • Location 1 – Slough, Hillingdon and Surrey (with the possibility of other locations within Southwest London and Kingston).
  • Working pattern: 2 hours per week per school, covering 2 schools (4 hours in total per week), term time only (39 weeks per year).
  • Actual salary: £2,956.70 – £3,373.05 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance.
  • FTE Annual Salary: Grade 5/6 (Spine Points 21-28), Outer London, £31,069.00 – £35,444.00 per annum including London Weighting Allowance.
  • Hourly Rate Equivalent: £16.55 – £18.88 per hour.
  • Location 2 – Chessington
  • Working pattern: 2 hours per week, term-time only (39 weeks per year).
  • Actual salary: £1,477.69 – £1,685.77 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance.
  • FTE Annual Salary: Grade 5/6 (Spine Points 21-28), Outer London, £31,069.00 – £35,444.00 per annum including London Weighting Allowance.
  • Hourly Rate Equivalent: £16.55 – £18.88 per hour.

Candidate requirements
