Thornton Hall & Lodge is a bright, spacious, purpose‑built 96-bed home providing high‑quality residential, dementia, and short‑stay care. Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, our home offers warmth, excellent standards, and a strong commitment to dignity, independence, and choice. Our dedicated team provides high‑quality care for older adults, including those living with dementia, with compassion, dignity, and respect.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the Home Manager in the daily running of the home and to help lead our team with professionalism and empathy.

Location: Thornton Lodge and Hall - L23 1UB

Deputy Manager – 40 hrs per week

Rates of Pay / Salary: £38,799 per annum

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assist in the day‑to‑day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Lead, supervise, and support the care team to deliver outstanding care.
  • Participate in assessments and care reviews, acting as a key contact for residents, families, and staff.
  • Foster strong relationships with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Promote a positive, resident‑focused culture in line with our “Good” CQC rating.

We’re Seeking Someone Who Is:

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager in a larger care home, or in a leadership role within a care setting.
  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
  • Strong understanding of CQC standards, DoLS, and the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, remain organised, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • A compassionate, resident‑focused approach, with a strong commitment to promoting dignity and independence.
