Location: Lansbury Court Care Home, Parkhouse Avenue, Castletown, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, SR5 3DF.

Salary: £15.02 per hour.

Schedule/Hours: Full time, days.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting the care team to deliver high-quality care
  • Work collaboratively with Dementia Therapists, Nurses, and wider multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and updating care records
  • Liaising with healthcare professionals and families
  • Supporting residents with personal care, meals, and daily activities
  • Ensuring the home remains clean, safe, and welcoming
  • Promoting dignity, independence, and choice for every resident
  • Participating in audits, inspections, and team meetings
  • Provide support to nursing team in the implementation of nursing care
  • Administer medication (where required) in line with prescriptions and maintain accurate medication records

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 12 months experience working in care, ideally elderly or dementia
  • Has completed Level 3 Diploma for Adult Care
  • Has completed a CHAPS accredited training course
  • Has a strong administration ability with a good level of IT literacy
  • Able to recognise their own limitations when working, to always ensure safe practice
  • Compassionate, patient, and reliable
  • A great communicator and team player
  • Willing to continue learning and developing professionally

A former mining community, Castletown is an area of Sunderland north of the River Wear and close to Hylton Castle. Lansbury Court care home is a single-storey modern home that has been purpose-built to provide specialist care tailored to both younger adults and older people living with dementia. Orchard Care Homes has a network of 23 care homes and has been providing care for older people for over 15 years.
