ORCA are excited to be recruiting an Operations Coordinator to join our Portsmouth office and support the logistics and administration of our global work to protect whales and dolphins. We are looking for a systems thinker who is organised, able to respond dynamically to changes and who works well under pressure. An ability to refine and streamline systems and processes and to work in an interconnected way are essential to help drive efficiency and help our operational processes maximise our conservation impact.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £25,000 per annum (on an initial 12 month fixed term contract)

Annual leave: 20 days per year plus bank holidays and Christmas shut down (increasing to 23 days after two years service)

Location: Office based in Portsmouth, UK (remote working is available on Mondays and Fridays)

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the logistics and planning of ORCA’s work, including coordinating equipment, assigning teams, supporting travel plans and other activities as required to deliver impact
  • Be a key point of contact for contract staff and subcontractors
  • Support administrative work related to contracts, records and other HR administration
  • Support and coordinate the development and delivery of conservation initiatives delivered by the charity
  • Assist in other administrative responsibilities related to the charity’s at-sea programmes
  • Supporting other members of the ORCA team where appropriate and as the business requires
