Position Overview: Orca is seeking an experienced and innovative Hyperbaric System Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design and development of advanced hyperbaric systems, supporting projects from concept through to production. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering precision-engineered solutions, working closely with our production and engineering teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability. This role may include occasional travel for business purposes, including site visits, supplier meetings, and project reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop concept and production 3D CAD models across a range of products.
- Produce detailed production and assembly drawings in accordance with industry standards.
- Provide engineering support to the production department, offering creative and practical design solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and MRP systems throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct engineering calculations to validate design integrity and performance.
- Prepare piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs) and associated documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in product design and development.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Design Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable experience as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- High proficiency in SolidWorks/Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of pressure vessels or gas/fluid systems (desirable but not essential).
