Orbition Group are delighted to be working with a FTSE 100 group who are seeking a Director of Data & Analytics to lead one of the UK's largest and most sophisticated data organisations. This is a high impact role driving AI, advanced analytics, BI transformation, and data governance at an enterprise scale. You will have the opportunity to lead a team of 400-500, with significant influence across pricing, claims, engineering and customer functions.
The Role
- Lead & Inspire: Build a culture that is focused on delivery, excellence and pace. Oversee a 400-500 team, with 7-8 senior direct reports.
- Accelerate AI/ML Performance: Own the performance and evolution of the pricing and claims algorithms. Grow data assets, streamline data architecture, and maximise business value from advanced analytics.
- Transform BI & Analytics: Drive automation, simplification, and self-serve outcomes. Implement metrics, drive adoption of best practice, and foster a culture of data driven decision making throughout the business.
How to be successful in this role
- Deep technical expertise in applied data science, AI/ML or advanced analytics.
- Experience in Insurance, FS, trading, gaming, or other algorithm intensive sectors.
- Proven leadership of large teams and delivery of measurable commercial value.
- Track record of major BI/Analytics transformation.
- Resilience, comfort leading complex change and the ability to get stuck in on delivery when/if needed.
Working Pattern: 6-8 days a month in the office. This is an opportunity for someone that has experience in leading high performing teams, is a hands-on leader (not just a 'strategist') and has the ability to operate and influence at an exec level.
