We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Retrofit Operative to join a growing construction and energy-efficiency team working across Walsall and the wider West Midlands area. The role involves carrying out retrofit and refurbishment works on residential and social housing properties to improve energy efficiency and modernise homes. You will work alongside site supervisors, tradespeople, and tenants to deliver high-quality upgrades safely and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with retrofit and refurbishment projects on occupied and void properties
- Carry out general construction and labouring duties
- Install or assist with:
- Insulation
- Ventilation systems
- Window and door replacements
- Basic carpentry and finishing works
- Property upgrades and repairs
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Work closely with site teams and residents
- Complete jobs to quality and time standards
Requirements
Essential
- Previous experience in construction, labouring, or property maintenance
- Good practical skills and work ethic
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- CSCS Card preferred
Desirable
- Experience in retrofit or social housing projects
- Experience with insulation or refurbishment works
