Orbital Recruitment are working in partnership with a high-quality engineering manufacturer in DE22 Derbyshire who are looking to recruit a skilled Vehicle Fitter to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Vehicle Fitter who takes pride in their workmanship and is looking for long-term, stable work with the potential to secure a permanent position.

The Role - Vehicle Fitter

Working as part of a skilled fabrication and welding team, the Vehicle Fitter will be responsible for carrying out high-quality fitting, modification, and finishing work on vehicles and specialist equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspecting vehicles and components to ensure work meets quality standards
  • Carrying out fitting, modification, and repair work on vehicle structures and assemblies
  • Cutting, grinding, sealing, and finishing components to a high standard
  • Using hand and power tools safely and accurately
  • Supporting fabrication and welding teams
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workspace

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Vehicle Fitter, or within vehicle assembly/fabrication
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Understanding of fabrication and welding processes
  • Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious
  • Experience within engineering or manufacturing environments is highly advantageous

Hours & Benefits

  • Monday to Friday 08:00 - 17:00 (39 hours per week)
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Overtime available at enhanced rates
  • Long-term ongoing work with the opportunity to go permanent
