Orbital Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Slinger / Signaller for a long-term position on a major HS2 project in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable and safety-focused operative to secure consistent work on a large-scale infrastructure scheme.
Pay & Hours
- Β£20 β Β£22 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 β 17:00
- Long-term work available (8β10 months)
The Role
As a Slinger / Signaller, you will play a key role in supporting lifting operations and groundworks activities on site. Working closely with the Lift Supervisor, plant operators, and groundworks team, you will help ensure all lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
Key responsibilities include:
- Slinging and signalling loads in line with lift plans and site procedures
- Assisting with lifting operations involving plant and materials
- Working alongside a groundworks gang on deep drainage and pipe laying works
- Ensuring correct use of lifting accessories and equipment
- Maintaining clear communication with crane and plant operators
- Supporting safe working practices at all times
- Adhering strictly to HS2 health & safety, environmental, and quality standards
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Slinger / Signaller on civils or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience supporting deep drainage and pipe laying works
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Slinger / Signaller ticket (A40 or equivalent)
- Good understanding of lifting operations and site safety
- Ability to work safely in deep excavations and high-risk environments
- HS2 experience is advantageous, but not essential
- Must be able to pass HS2 medical, drug & alcohol testing, and site induction
- Right to work in the UK
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and a strong team player
