Orbital Recruitment are currently recruiting an experienced Lift Supervisor / Ganger for a long-term role on a major HS2 project in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled supervisor with groundworks and deep drainage experience to secure consistent work on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.
Pay & Hours
- £26 – £30 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 – 17:00
- Long-term work available (8–10 months)
The Role
As Lift Supervisor / Ganger, you will be responsible for overseeing lifting operations while also leading a small groundworks gang on site. You will play a key role in ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with HS2 standards.
Key duties will include:
- Supervising all lifting operations in accordance with approved lift plans
- Coordinating and leading a groundworks / drainage gang
- Ensuring safe slinging, signalling, and movement of materials
- Overseeing deep drainage and pipe laying works
- Working closely with site management and plant operators
- Maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and productivity
- Ensuring compliance with HS2 safety, environmental, and site procedures
- Carrying out daily briefings, checks, and toolbox talks where required
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Lift Supervisor / Ganger on civils or infrastructure projects
- Strong background in deep drainage and pipe laying
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Lift Supervisor ticket (A62 or equivalent)
- Experience supervising lifting operations and groundworks teams
- Ability to work safely in deep excavations and high-risk environments
- HS2 experience is advantageous, but not essential
- Must be able to pass HS2 medical, drug & alcohol testing, and site induction
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
