Immediate starts available for 2 experienced Maintenance Technicians (Rolling Stock) to join a rail maintenance team based in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled engineers with experience in heavy rail maintenance, rolling stock refurbishment, and locomotive overhaul.
Working Hours: 06:30 - 13:30, 13:30 - 21:30
Pay Rates: £26 p/h LTD/UMBRELLA
Key Responsibilities:
- Specialising in heavy maintenance, door systems, vehicle refurbishment and locomotive overhaul.
- Perform fault finding, repairs, and modifications on door systems and mechanical components.
- Support C4 refurbishment programmes and vehicle overhauls.
- Conduct underframe maintenance, bogie connections, and mechanical component replacements.
- Complete interior strip-outs, refurbishments, and refits where required.
- Follow Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safety isolations before maintenance activities.
- Ensure all work is completed safely within live depot environments and according to company procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow permit-to-work systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Heavy rail maintenance and refurbishment experience.
- Mechanical fault diagnosis and repair.
- Door system overhaul and maintenance.
- Locomotive engine repair experience (power packs, turbochargers, pumps, bearings).
- Bogie connections and underframe maintenance.
- Interior refurbishment and vehicle modification work.
- Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Electrical and mechanical safety isolations.
- Permit to Work systems.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
- Strong health & safety awareness.
- Computer literate.
- NVQ Level 3 or similar.
